Information Security and Privacy
Carol L. Stimmel · Auerbach Publications eBooks · 2015
The objective of this chapter is to introduce the very complex conditions of creating a secure and private smart city where so many of the benefits are entangled with highly granular and frequently collected data from both the private and public domains. We explore the boundaries of our expectations about privacy and suggest that while it is a difficult problem, simplicity may be in order. We also discuss the role of open data and the value of the foundational principles of the widely accepted Privacy by Design framework.
