It has allowed individuals who have never met in real life to strike up lasting relationships in cyber space. It has increased the velocity of money by enabling point-and-click purchases. Thanks to the Internet, the exchange of data files between remote locations has become a matter of seconds, and geographic proximity is no longer necessary for companies that seek to execute commercial transactions or cooperate on the production of a good. Because the Internet has transformed the concept of distance as a factor in economic decisionmaking, it has made the corporation more mobile than ever before.
