Riccati equations and bitangential interpolation problems with singular Pick matrices

A recently discovered connection between matrix Riccati equations and (finite dimensional) reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces is used to develop a clean and relatively painless analysis of a class of bitangential interpolation problems with singular Pick matrices.
