In recent years, there has been a proliferation of performances that utilize electronic sound technology for real-time interaction. One of the reasons for this is the development of musical instrument data interface (MIDI) and more recently Open Sound Control (OSC) together with real-time programming environments, such as Max that have the special advantage of being interactive with visual and network technologies.
