Creating a Search Engine Using Zend_Search_Lucene

Apress eBooks · 2009

You bring up your favorite web browser and start your online journey by visiting Google or Yahoo!. You type a keyword into the search field, press Submit, and wait for references to documents published online to appear. The result might contain a brief summary of what the content contains, and might even have the search term highlighted for you. With a search engine, you find relevant data in a matter of seconds instead of trying to determine the domain name of the web page and locate the interesting content within the site yourself. These keywords were added by machine and not by the authors. This process is experimental and the keywords may be updated as the learning algorithm improves.
