T his chapter describes the use of web services within Catalyst, both for the consumption of external web services and for the provision of web services to other clients. The W3C, the Web’s standards consortium, describes web services as “a software system designed to support interoperable machine-to-machine interaction over a network.” These keywords were added by machine and not by the authors. This process is experimental and the keywords may be updated as the learning algorithm improves.
