Abstrakt A generalized function called the δ (delta) function introduced by Dirac appears frequently in physics, dynamical system theory, control, signal processing, and engineering in general. Unfortunately, in many (perhaps too many) engineering textbooks, this is imprecisely defined as a “function” satisfying the following two properties: δ ( t ) : = { + ∞ , t = 0 , 0 , t ≠ 0 , ∫ − ∞ ∞ δ ( t ) d t = 1.
