The Wearable Data Layer API

Andres A. Calvo · Apress eBooks · 2015

While Android Wear is great for simple and timely interactions, more complex and lengthy interactions should be done on a handheld device. For example, viewing an email you just received is useful and convenient but searching your inbox for a particular message is complex enough that it should only be done from a handheld. Additionally, capabilities that require an elevated amount of battery or processing should be performed on the handheld. For instance, Android Wear's navigation app receives location updates that are measured on the handheld's GPS when possible. These keywords were added by machine and not by the authors. This process is experimental and the keywords may be updated as the learning algorithm improves.
