I always want to give credit where it is due, so I want to be clear this chapter is more a compilation of various sources of information than it is groundbreaking in what I bring to you. At the same time, what I often find is that there is amazing work out there, but somehow it continues to stay within silos that hamper its ability to potentially rapidly expand the sphere of influence through reuse and collaboration. For instance, there are a number of people doing amazing work in this field and specifically here I want to thank Dr. Steve Venema, mentors like Steve Hanna and Will Pelgrin, Hal Tipton, John Banghart, Daniel Schmidt, Harley Parkes, Vint Cerf, Glenn Kowack, Rob Dixon, Simon Hunt, and Will Pelgrin’s amazing CSIC team, along with various members of the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center (MS-ISAC), Tony Sager and his great staff, Ian Dobson from e Open Group, as well as a myriad of individuals not named here who as a whole have either directly contributed use cases, information, and ideas or have indirectly contributed over my career by helping me to simply think better in general about the opportunities we have to really make a significant difference in the “Digital Ecosystem” in the near future.
