Back in the’ 80s on the television show Cheers, the character of Dr. Frasier Crane once spouted a great line l’ve always remembered, “Oh, now you’re saying I’m redundant, that I repeat myself, that I say things over and over?” Well, I find something a bit humorously redundant about the title of this chapter. There really is nothing basic about bitmap manipulation, but we can look at those topics covered in the last chapter as, if not basic, at least the foundation knowledge that is required in order to perform more advanced bitmap manipulation through ActionScript.
