Assumption-Based Truth Maintenance Systems

Weiru Liu · Studies in fuzziness and soft computing · 2001

The aim of this chapter is to provide a basis for the discussion in Chapter 9. We will not review all the work on the assumption-based truth maintenance system (ATMS) carried out so far. Rather, we will only focus on two aspects of the ATMS: its basic reasoning mechanism, and the possibility of associating it with numerical uncertainty mechanisms. These keywords were added by machine and not by the authors. This process is experimental and the keywords may be updated as the learning algorithm improves.
