Converting Visual Script to IDEAScript
John Paul Mueller · 2012
Visual Script provides a convenient method for creating simple macros that the users do not plan to customize in any way. Even though the result is quite simple, it works. For some people, Visual Script is all they all ever need because they are not looking for anything complicated. Visual Script macro can be converted to an IDEAScript macro and then the customizations required added using the techniques. The chapter describes how to convert a Visual Script macro to an IDEAScript macro so that the users can customize the result as needed. Visual Script is a good way to start scripting. IDEAScript can perform just about any task that the users can imagine and probably a bit more. There are some significant benefits to moving from Visual Script to IDEAScript. The conversion process described in the chapter helps to retain the investment in time that has been already made to create the Visual Script macro and create the first IDEAScript application much more quickly.
