ABSTRACT: The marine controlled source electromagnetic method is used in exploring natural gas hydrate undersea and oil gas, and one of the most pivotal techniques is how to observe the electric signal from the seabed at a low noise level. This property of marine controlled source electromagnetic receivers mainly depends on the electric-field sensors and the chopper amplifiers. In order to check the technical specifications of the chopper amplifiers which were developed, we made a thorough test on their frequency response, voltage noise, CMRR and power consumption. The result indicates that our test method is scientific and effective and confirms the low-noise property of chopper amplifiers at the same time.
