Small Signal Amplifiers

B. W. Allen · 1995

In this chapter the small signal amplifier will be considered. Transistor circuits will be used, predominantly in common-emitter configuration. Initially lower level work will be covered in order to establish a suitable threshold from which to start the high level work. From that point the small signal amplifier will be analysed, the end products being an understanding of the h parameter equivalent circuit and the derivation of the expression for amplifier voltage gain.
