Information seeking behaviour of the professionals in the field of disabilities with special reference to mental handicap in India

A study of information seeking behaviour of 160 professionals in the field of disabilities in India, through a questionnaire survey method, reveals that informal channels are more used for information gathering. Journals are preferred for formal source of information for preparing course/ t~aching materials. Books are used more for ploviding consultation and offering therapeutic! diagnostic services. The time spent in borrowing/reading literature for various purposes has also been studied.
