Metrological Naturalism and ADT

Kevin A. Scharp · Oxford University Press eBooks · 2013

This chapter explains how the axiomatic theory of ascending truth and descending truth (ADT) from Chapter 6 is to be interpreted. The chapter favors Donald Davidson's strategy of using measurement theory to explain the relationship between some bit of mathematics like ADT and our natural languages. The chapter calls this methodology metrological naturalism.
