This chapter focuses on tools and techniques used in scrum framework. Scrum is an agile methodology that has been widely used to manage project execution activities. It introduces six tools and techniques for use in a project management Toolbox that are frequently utilized in a scrum management framework. They are the product backlog and sprint backlog, release planning, daily scrum meeting, sprint task board, sprint burn down chart, and sprint retrospective meeting. A sprint backlog represents a list of items that a scrum team has taken from the product backlog and has committed to developing during the next sprint. In developing large systems, release planning enables project managers and other stakeholders to have greater visibility into the expected completion of future milestones. A sprint retrospective meeting follows the sprint review meeting and is typically the last step in the sprint life cycle.
