T]his chapter will be of most use to you if you have had the pleasure of building multiple servers. We cannot recall the number of times we’ve looked at a customer install checklist that was a good ten pages long. Every time a server is built, this checklist is followed stepby-step, and each piece of software is copied over and then installed by hand. Apart from being extremely time-consuming and error prone, it’s a thankless task. If you get it right, then what’s the big deal? You had step-by-step instructions, and it’s not that hard. If you get it wrong or miss a single item on that list from hell, you’re not going to hear the end of it. The best-case scenario is going back through the same list trying to figure out which bit you missed. Surely, there has to be a better way These keywords were added by machine and not by the authors.
