A New Introduction to JavaScript: New Performance (V8) and New Use (Node.js, WebGL, Firefox OS, Chrome OS) of JavaScript

Over the years, JavaScript (JS) is used to be known as a weak language, simple and inefficiency, first designed in only 10 days and was only for certain effects and features in the browser. But with the development in recent years it seems to have the tendency to do everything. This paper introduces some new technologies about JS, including V8, a high-performance JS engine, Node's, a server-side software system using JavaScript, WebGL, a JS API for rendering interactive 3D and 2D graphics, Fire fox OS, a smart phone operating system designed to allow HTML5 applications to communicate directly with the device's hardware using JS, Chrome OS, Google's web operating system. Besides, this paper also shows some drawbacks of JS.
