The challenges to lower blood pressure to goal level in some patients may be formidable. One has to investigate the causes responsible for such difficult to treat hypertension and employ three or more antihyper-tensive drugs besides addressing the root causes of resistant hypertension. The incidence of resistant hypertension will increase in India with increase in incidence of hypertension per se. The incidence of hypertension (HT) has increased in India in the past five decades, more so in the urban areas1.
