‘Information Management’ Becomes a New Tool of Governance

Before 1948 the machinery and methods of government information were not set. There was still ongoing ideological opposition to their continuation in Parliament and there were increasing concerns about its cost. However, once these were resolved over the following two years the foundations of government information management – institutional, conceptual and methodological – had been established. These keywords were added by machine and not by the authors. This process is experimental and the keywords may be updated as the learning algorithm improves.
