The most widely used method of controlling physical access is the lock. Locks are used on doors at home, on vehicles, for offices, hotels and safes, and in desks, cabinets, files, briefcases, display cases and jewelry boxes. Locks are also one of the oldest of security devices and to this age is owed the technical jargon that has grown with the locksmith’s craft.
