It is a well-known fact that a lot of Electronic Control Units (ECUs) and high-speed communication Local Area Networks (LANs) are necessary for self-driving vehicle system. Vehicle manufactures are interested in Ethernet that has high data rate and low signal amplitude, and will be introduced on vehicles. Thus, ensuring immunity performance is one of the main issues in the in-vehicle Ethernet. This paper provides an alternative technique to estimate the immunity performance of ECUs for in-vehicle Ethernet by using mixed mode S-parameter Sdc11. We defined the criteria of mode conversion Sdc11in order to ensure ECU's immunity performance. We developed two sample ECUs with different immunity performances, and clarified the relation between Bulk Current Injection (BCI) test results and the values of Sdc11.
