The ViSUS Visualization Framework

The ViSUS software framework1 has been designed as an environment that allows the interactive exploration of massive scientific models on a variety of hardware, possibly over geographically distributed platforms. This chapter is devoted to the description of the scalability principles that are at the basis of applications, scientific visualization and other domains such as digital photography or the exploration of geospatial models.
