Control of Multisensor Systems by Neural Networks

In the recent years the applications of artificial neural networks (ANNs) became used frequently in monitoring systems. This paper presents two possible applications of ANNs in the field of flexible manufacturing system (FMS). First the paper surveys the theory of backpropagation algorithm, then a tool breakage monitoring system is detailed and the possible implementations of ANNs in the field of robotics. The aforementioned developments was carried out in CIM Pilot-System of Technical University of Budapest.
