Abstract This chapter discusses old‐fashioned intensional logic, a topic that David Kaplan worked on a very long time ago, and one in which he is still interested. It considers the development of theories of truth and meaning for natural language, focusing on the problems created by nonextensional contexts, such as that‐clauses.
