Electronic Mail Addresses
David Elmore · Radiocarbon · 1988
BITNET and other electronic mail systems are a convenient and inexpensive means for local, national and international communications.Like copy machines and word processing, e-mail has become an important aid to communications and is here to stay. Most universities and large laboratories are connected to at least one network, and most networks are linked to each other through gateways. At the 13th International Radiocarbon Conference in Dubrovnik, we posted a sign-up sheet for e-mail users and decided to publish a list of addresses for radiocarbon and AMS users. The following network addresses (after N:) are written in a form that is compatible with gMail/jnet/VAX/VMS but most can be adapted for other mailers.Simple addresses of the form "user@node" are BITNET addresses; others can be reached through gateways. If you would like to be added to this list, have the list sent to you by e-mail, or correct any information, send a request to the editors or to David Elmore (ELMORE@UORNSRL).
