Arthur F. Lange · ASSA, CSSA and SSSA · 1996

Depending on the particular equipment utilized, GPS is capable of a wide range of accuracy, from tens of meters to centimeters. This paper' goal is to give an overview of GPS and how high accuracy is obtained. Since GPS will be used in many precision agriculture applications including field preparation, variable rate planting, yield mapping, field scouting, pest management and custom chemical application, it is important to understand the limitations of GPS to derive full benefits from the technology.
