Microblogging for Service, Fun, and Profit

Marsha Collier · 2012

This chapter describes microblogging for providing service, fun, and profit. A microblog is a platform set up to accept posts that are only a sentence or so in length. Perhaps even only a sentence fragment, a video, or a photo is posted. Microblogging is generally thought to have come about via the popularization of chat, instant, and text messaging. The most popular microblog these days is Twitter; it's become the platform upon which the rules of microblogging are constantly being made and broken. Twitter is unquestionably the simplest and most convenient format to make online customer connections. It is truly a realm in which one loud voice from a satisfied customer can reach millions of ears and spread news worldwide.
