There’s a great scene at the end of The Matrix (you know, the good one) where Neo is suddenly able to see the world around him as a representation of symbols, the program underneath that makes up the illusion of the world. Once he recognizes the nature of these symbols, he is able to manipulate them, and therefore his whole environment, displaying what amounts to superpowers as he pushes, pulls, and transforms the world around him.
