Nor Azlina Bt Abd Rahman, Kamalanathan Shanmugam, Nurul Haniza Bt Mohtar · International Conference on Electronics, Communications and Control · 2012

This paper shows how ubiquitous computing can be applied to intensify the security system of vehicles. The ubiquitous system consists of ubiquitous elements such as communication technologies, Automatic Identification and Data Capture (AIDC), authentication methods and ubiquitous system devices. However this paper will only focus on communication technologies that can be used in ubiquitous systems which will only focus on Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers(IEEE) 802.15 standards that specify Wireless Personal Area Network (WPAN) standards that include Bluetooth, coexistence, high rate and low rate WPAN. Those technologies will be discussed in more detail and how those technologies are being implemented to enhance the security system of vehicles. Some of the disadvantages of the technology will also be highlighted and based on the evaluation performed, the best technology to be used to enhance the security system of the vehicle will be identified.
