F. Natterer · Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics eBooks · 2001

The relevance of incomplete data problems has already been pointed out in Chapter I. In Section VI.1 we discuss some features which are shared by all incomplete data problems, such as the nature of the artefacts, the degree of ill-posedness, and data completion. In Sections VI.2–5 we work out the details for specific problems. In Section VI.5 an inversion formula which is adapted to a special three-dimensional scanning mode is given. In Section VI.6 we demonstrate that homogeneous objects can be recovered from very few data.
