World Views—Addressing the Capital Q

Celeste Labrunda Yeakley, Jeffrey D. Fiebrich · 2015

One of the first things one notices when working with non-quality personnel is that they often confuse software assessments with audits. Assessments are very different from audits. The police problem is approached with a bottom-up perspective as well as a top-down perspective. By gathering champions and advocates together in an open forum, one begins to build a team that understood the common goal of process improvement. This chapter presents a summary of the steps in building the checklists. One method to validate a new checklist is by applying it to a pilot project. Checklists are the key to smooth, consistent execution. Having a standardized checklist will remove most of the human personality from the assessment equation at the company. While the quality group initially develops the checklists, the advocates will quickly update them to make them more effective and efficient.
