Wireless sensor network is getting interest nowadays with the growth of Internet and its things. The entire performance of the network depends on efficient data collection from sensors to sink. The routing from sensor node to sink nodes has to be cost efficient. Many flat, chain, cluster topology-based protocols have been designed to enhance lifetime of the network. In this paper, we propose and compare two efficient routing protocols considering factors such as threshold, connection time, coverage and robust Velocity Energy Efficient and Link-aware Cluster Tree [VEELCT] and modified VEELCT. These protocols minimise traffic load in the network which in turn minimise energy consumption. The protocols avoid frequent cluster formation. The protocols are designed by forming cluster on top of data collection node form tree structure to transfer to sink. VEELCT is designed to operate under one sink and mod VEELCT with multiple sink nodes. Experimental simulation results show better result for VEELCT delay, energy consumption and mod VEELCT in terms throughput and energy consumption. On the whole, both provide better Quality of Service QOS in terms end-to-end communication and network lifetime.
