The Slow Wake ofAGlobal Approach Against Cybercrime

Cybercrime is a truly global challenge. Offenders can act from every place in the world and target victims worldwide. As an answer to the global challenge a global solution is necessary to effectively fight Cybercrime. With regard to the different legal systems and criminal law traditions the drafting of such a global legislative approach goes along with unique difficulties. The article presents an overview about the necessary elements of an international legislative approach and analyses, in how far the existing Council of Europe Convention on Cybercrime (CETS No. 185 Convention on Cybercrime) meets those demands.
