The Cardinal Analysis of Philosophy of Education via Soft Computing Method
Hui-Chung Ho · The journal of grey system/Journal of grey system · 2014
Philosophy of education as a curriculum aims to develop students' logic thinking, identification of value, and exposition of educational policy. As the content of educational philosophy is abstract by nature, instructors have difficulty assessing instructional efficiency quantitatively. Research in the past tended to adopt qualitative analysis, thus failing to obtain precise solution. In view of the explanatory inadequacy of past research, the present study applies soft calculation to solve the problem. Test assessment, which is represented in terms of quantitative value, is implemented to diagnose students' leaning effect. This article regards knowledge as consisting of knowledge concept and cognitive skills. The types of test response have three functions, namely inferring the traits of ability, developing cognitive styles, and maintaining the constancy of function. In this study, the researcher first refers to the grey student-problem chart (GSP) Table for S curve and P curve, both of which indicate right and wrong answers in juxtaposition, and then constructs the ontology of analysis. Finally, the researcher applies grey structure modeling(GSM), formal concept analysis(FCA), rough set and matrix based structure modeling(MSM) to construct the directed graph of ontology, whereby the cognitive styles are derived. The result based on quantitative analysis is obtained accordingly.
