A study on the parameters for abnormal detection in Electric railway system

Kyungwon Park, Woo Jin Jang · 2012

The load in existed electric railway system increases gradually and it requires to modify protection strategy. The protection system is very important to intercept the system when overload takes place and to protect from propagating accidents when earth fault arises. To implement the protection system, the load characteristics of a electric railway system is physically identified and the fault current properties is distinguished from normal operation. In this paper, we identified the general load characteristics and elicit the par, ameters to make up the protection system with predicting fault current when faults arise in transformer, feeder and catenary and proposed a protection system using over voltage, over current and low voltage caused from overvoltage, short circuit, earth fault and low voltage of the subsystems.
