Consistency Analysis of Operator Splitting Methods for C0 -Semigroups

The consistencyof different splitting schemes has mostlybeen studied for bounded operators bymeans of the traditional Tay lor series expansion. In this paper second order of consistencyis proved for the sy mmetricallyweighted sequential (SWS) splitting and the Marchuk-Strang (MS) splitting for unbounded generators of stronglycontinuous semigroups.
