Enhancing the undergraduate teaching and research using robotic programming

In this paper, we describe a project of building a PC-based robot (PCRob) for robotic programming using mini PC and off-the-shelf components. The robot will then be used to enhance undergraduate teaching and research in the computer science department. Unlike most of the robots where only the microprocessors are used, the PCRob uses a mini PC to provide the computing power in order to process some advanced functionalities such as computer vision and speech recognition.
