A lo-fi prototype testing with preschoolers to design organic user interfaces

Wong Bee Suan, Evi Indriasari Mansor · 2015

This workshop aims to understand how children interact with interface using deformation-based gestures by observing them interacting with paper prototype. The earliest form of communication is through gestures and they help children to learn better. Current technology lacks natural form as it is a flat surface and does not allow deformation-based gestures. Therefore, we want to gain user-defined gestures that would serve as guidelines to designers who are trying to design and implement future deformable interface. A paper prototype is suggested due to its flexibility and not confined by current technical limitations.
