Due to the increase use of smartphone devices in the last few years, we have seen a smartphone application for almost everything. Entertainment, finance, commerce, education, and social networking are just few category examples of what is now available for smartphone users to install on their devices. With the increase sale of smartphone devices that it is predicted to exceed the amount of PCs to be sold in the next couple years, we have seen continuous search for more smartphone application developers that can write applications for every need. This is due to the increase of the smartphone capabilities and device sensors that make them more powerful than regular computers in many domains. In response to the need of smartphone developers, we prepared an Introduction to iOS Development workshop that may encourage educators to offer such a course in their Computer Science curriculum or related fields. In this workshop, we will provide step-by-step instructions on how to build iOS applications for Apple's iPhone devices so attendees can have a good start towards building smartphone applications. The workshop will include a hands-on exercise and provide examples of the ease with which newcomers to mobile programming are able to pick up the concepts discussed and immediately apply them, giving attendees the opportunity to be familiar with mobile interaction and development.
