On the interior Dirichlet problem of the infinite circular cylinder (Green's function for the circular cylinder)

The Green function for a circular cylinder is derived by a standard method and by a procedure making use of the image concept.Knowledge of the Green function allows one to calculate the potential and field produced by a beam of arbitrary cross-section and arbitrary density distribution, circulating either coaxially or off-axis inside a circular cylinder.Various examples are considered.
