AlkD has six HEAT-like tandem repeats

Each α-helix (H_in) of the putative DNA binding surface of AlkD is linked to the two rear side α-helices (H_out), the one preceding it (same repeat) and the other succeeding it (next repeat), through short loops. There is an additional inserted α-helix, α2 (boxed, magenta), between the first and second α-helices of R1.
