Exploring sampling rate for discrete wavelet transform implementation

In this paper, we consider properties of a discrete wavelet transform and its possibility of applying to standard local signal types which are frequently used in mechanical and electromechanical systems. Frequency response characteristics of discrete wavelet filters are also determined. This work gives a good background for developing technique which could help to find an optimal sampling rate for the basic class of local signals.
