Algebras Based on Linear Functions

Louis M. Weiner · Mathematics Magazine · 1954

Introduction. In studying the structures of certain algebras, one often finds it convenient to construct an auxiliary algebra by defining a new multiplication among the elements of the original algebra in terms of the original multiplication. In this paper we shall give such a constructioninterms of linear functions and shall determine the conditions on these linear functions in order that the resulting algebras shall be of certain types.
