Sara Gotti, Samir Mbarki · 2016
Previously, developers were executing the code by compiling a program written in a specific language, in order to make it flexible and autonomous. Currently, with the appearance of modeling approach, many researchers are interested in modeling tools industry, as well, to align with the imposed changes and respond to industry requirements related to cost and time to market. The need to make the model executable is primordial. Among these researches, there are solutions that execute models as those based on unified modeling language UML. The solutions that execute UML models define a subset of behavioral models whose semantics are executable. In this article we will discuss the various approaches proposed for the execution of UML models. In particular, we present a comparative analysis of these approaches according to many criteria.
