Low cost capture of data from Meteosat

John R. Stephenson · ITNOW · 1988

Abstract Within the subject of computer science, data communication is normally regarded as the two way transmission of data between computers over networks of various types and complexities. The subject is often studied by degree course students as it is important to make students aware of ‘industiy’ standard techniques from the viewpoint of both hardware and software, A course is likely to concentrate on the problems of the communication of the data between computers and may not address the problem of how the data is itself input to the system in the first instance.
