Study of opportunistic routing algorithms for multi-hop cognitive radio networks

Josep Casanovas Suriñach · 2016

Cognitive radios are wireless devices that sense licensed bands in search of transmission opportunities. Cognitive radios can exchange the sensed data to estimate the spectrum map of the covered geographical area. The spectrum map can be exploited then to implement opportunistic medium access and routing algorithms that optimize the cognitive radio network performance while ensuring the required protection to licensed users. In this context, the objective is to evaluate existing and novel routing algorithms that make use of the estimated spectrum map.
