In the past decade, it became clear that some fundamental problems were arising in drug discovery. It was becoming harder to find new chemical entities with substantial advantages over existing drugs. Consequently, it became riskier and more expensive to develop new drug entities. These keywords were added by machine and not by the authors. This process is experimental and the keywords may be updated as the learning algorithm improves.
