Label free technologies have been used successfully for a wide range of research applications and in drug development projects to quantify the molecular interactions. In recent years several types of instrumentation based on label free technologies have been used to measure the molecular interactions. The focus of 2012 MIRG Benchmark study was to evaluate the consistency of the results and interpretation provided by participating laboratories using label free technologies. Protein samples of unknown identity (protein-X and protein-Y) were provided to 14 laboratories, and the participants were asked to determine the stoichiometry and equilibrium dissociation constant of the interaction between these two proteins. The summarized results of the “benchmark study” will be presented during the MIRG session 2.
